Our silk jacquard fabrics are entirely handmade, from mulberry cultivation to the final steps of dyeing. A lot of care is also put into the entire process to ensure consistency and high quality. Each step must be carefully monitored by artisans.

Our silk brocade fabrics are also handmade. The silk and rayon are dyed to the correct color, which are then threaded to be woven into beautiful patterns. Only a limited amount of skilled artisans can make some of the vintage patterns on the fabrics. Due to the extensive process of silk production, which can take up to several weeks, slight variations in color and minor grains or color streaks in the fabric are normal.

Dry-cleaning is recommended for all of our silk products.

Hand washing is a possible alternative. However, hand washing may alter the consistency of the silk and the color may run. Always test a small, inconspicuous spot before washing the entire product! Never use chlorine bleach because it damages silk and causes it to turn yellow.

If the silk is stained, get it dry-cleaned as soon as possible. Do not attempt to remove stains with water, especially before testing the silk for color fastness. Moisture tends to discolor the silk, as well as affect the item's sizing. Scrubbing or pressing could ruin the fabric in the attempt to remove concentrated stains.
